Traditional tile painting workshop

€48.50 per person, including shipping, excluding museum entrance.

Would you like to paint your own Delft Blue tile wisdom? It is possible during the painting workshop! Choose one of the Royal Delft designs or make a design yourself. You paint a tile with the traditional black paint. When fired, the color changes to the well-known Delft Blue. 

After the tile has been painted, it will be glazed and fired in our factory, a process that takes approximately 5-6 weeks. Shipping within the Netherlands is included. For Europe, a surcharge of €10 applies. For countries outside Europe, the surcharge is €30. Shipping to the USA costs €65 (for 1 to 5 tiles) or €85 (for 6 to 20 tiles). Surcharges can be paid at the museum. Pick-up is not possible.

Traditional plate painting workshop

€ 74.50 per person, including shipping, excluding museum entrance

Dates in 2026: 13 February, 22 March, 17 May, 6 June, 10, 23, 30 July, 6, 13, 20, 27 August, 26 September, 25 October

During the painting workshop, you can decorate your own plate! Choose one of the Royal Delft decorations or create your own design. You will paint a plate (20 cm in diameter) using traditional black paint. After firing, the color will transform into the well-known Delft Blue.

Once the plate is painted, it will be glazed and fired in our factory, a process that takes approximately 5-6 weeks. The price includes shipping within the Netherlands. For shipping within Europe, an additional fee of €10 applies. For shipping outside Europe, the fee is €30. This surcharge can be paid upon arrival at the museum and covers the shipment of up to 25 tiles to a single address. Unfortunately, pickup is not possible.

Children tile painting workshop

€35.50 per person, including shipping, excluding museum entrance.

This workshop is especially for children from 7 to 12 years old and can only be booked in combination with a traditional tile painting workshop . A parent or responsible person must always be present during the painting workshop.

After the tile has been painted, it will be glazed and fired in our factory, a process that takes approximately 5-6 weeks. Shipping within the Netherlands is included. For Europe, a surcharge of €10 applies. For countries outside Europe, the surcharge is €30. Shipping to the USA costs €65 (for 1 to 5 tiles) or €85 (for 6 to 20 tiles). Surcharges can be paid at the museum. Pick-up is not possible.

DIY tile painting workshop

€ 36.50 per person (museum entrance excluded and only bookable for groups with a minimum of 10 persons)

This workshop differs from the regular painting workshop because blue paint is used. This means you can take your tile home immediately afterwards.

William of Orange painting workshop

€48.50 per person, including shipping, excluding museum entrance.

From January till April 2026, William of Orange will once again return to the spotlight through a musical bearing his name. The perfect moment to further explore his special connection to Delft. At the Royal Delft Museum, this can be done not only through the stories presented in our museum, but also in a creative way.

During a painting workshop, the history of William of Orange gains an extra dimension. While working with the centuries-old craft of Delft Blue, you can choose a special William of Orange tile design. A creative and inspiring addition to a day dedicated entirely to William of Orange.

Christmas painting workshop

€69.50 per person, including shipping, excluding museum entrance.

Want to paint your own Delft Blue Christmas ornament? This is possible during the Christmas painting workshop. During this painting workshop you can choose from a Christmas bell, ball or drop. You can select which item you want to paint when booking the workshop.

Unleash your creativity and paint with traditional black paint. When fired, the color changes to the well-known Delft Blue. After approximately 10-12 working days you can pick up your ornament or we will send it to your home address.

Dates of the Christmas Painting Workshops will be announced later. 

All workshops start at 2:00 PM and are limited to a maximum of 24 participants. Be sure to book early to reserve your spot!

Starting January 1, 2025, the price includes shipping within the Netherlands. For shipments within Europe, an additional fee of €8 applies. For shipments outside of Europe, the fee is €27. At this moment it is not possible to ship to the USA until further notice. This fee can be paid upon arrival at the museum and covers shipping for up to 10 small items. Please note: pickup is unfortunately not possible.
