At the Royal Delft Museum, two worlds come together: the centuries-old craft of Delft Blue and the expressive energy of international street art. With the exhibition Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, the Royal Delft Museum and STRAAT Museum Amsterdam build a bridge between tradition and innovation.
Six international street artists drew inspiration from Delft’s ceramic craftsmanship and translate this rich history into a contemporary, urban visual language. The result is a vibrant cross-pollination between ceramics and street art, creating new perspectives and celebrating craftsmanship in all its forms.
In collaboration with STRAAT, the museum for street art and graffiti in Amsterdam, six international artists were invited: Claudio Limon (Mexico), Keya Tama (South Africa), Madi (France), Ryol (Indonesia), Speto (Brazil), and Tja Ling Hu (The Netherlands). During the first residency in November 2025, they created tile panels and objects for the exhibition. Now, they return to do what they do best: creating a mural on the side of our building.
Curious?
Visit the museum between February 23 to March 7 and, if you’re lucky, see the artists at work live.
