Delft Blue walk-in workshop

The well-known walk-in workshop day, which normally only takes place once a year during Royal Delft’s Blue Friday Weekend (formerly the Open Days), is now also possible on Sunday 19 March! Start your painting workshop whenever you want, choose your own product to be painted (biscuit) and take the time to create your own Delft Blue artwork.

Also admire the renovated museum (admission is included in the price) and the factory on your own or during one of the guided tours that day. Complete your day with a painting lunch in Brasserie1653.

Walk-in workshop

On Sunday 19 March you can participate in our famous walk-in workshop. The painting workshop is possible from €39.00* per person. You can start between 10am-3pm and we finish at 5pm. Come on time, when the workshop room is full, we ask you to wait until a place becomes available.

Completely satisfied with your painting skills? We glaze and bake your item, after which you can pick it up at a later time or we will send it to you (postage costs nog included yet).

Please note: we ask you to make a reservation for the morning or afternoon so that we can make an estimate for the workshop space.

*The walk-in workshop includes museum entrance. You will receive a discount at the reception on presentation of your museum card or Rotterdam pass.

TIP: Vermeer templates!

From February, the 17th-century master Johannes Vermeer will be in the spotlight at Royal Delft. Royal Delft joins in with the Rijksmuseum, which is exhibiting the largest overview of Vermeer for the first time in history. Did you know that the owners of De Koninklijke Prceleyne Fles and Johannes Vermeer used to belong to the same St. Lucas Guild? In the coming period, the emphasis at Royal Delft will therefore be on the close link between Royal Delft and Vermeer.

Our master painter has created beautiful new designs inspired by a number of works by Johannes Vermeer. Ask about it during the workshop!
